There we were with a few blank walls when we decided to come up with something we could do that could be sprayed up quickly whilst making the most of our truly impressive freehand skills. After a quick trip back to the lab we came up with the stencilled eyes and mouth which can be thrown up at a moment’s notice followed by a quick bit of can work for the rest of it. Bish, bash, bosh. 2 minutes and it’s job done. Although saying that we went to town on the bottom one after a couple of earlier mishaps which eventually took a little while. Hopefully we’ll be developing these somewhat if we get a little space to work with…

Well, it’s true! Nobody does like a sad clown. Clowns are contradictory enough as it is with their fake smiles and cheery alcoholics’ red noses. You don’t need one crying (even if it is a little girl) just to sour the milk further. I, for one, have never really liked clowns. Lion tamers – yes! Contortionists – yes! Trapeze artist – yes! Clowns – NO! But maybe that’s just me.
Anyway we had found a spare wall so thought we’d give some freehand a little go. Now whilst i’m not entirely happy with the outcome i’m not totally dismayed either. Hopefully we’ll be moving onto bigger and better things. Eagle eyed readers will spot my attempted freehand bit of lettering in the girls hair – which looked a lot worse before we went over it! It looks kind of neat there…
Now we just need some more walls to practice on…

Whenever i see the Harley Davidson logo I always end up thinking about Hunter S Thompson‘s interesting 1966 book about Hell’s Angels (who famously love to ride Harley Davidson bikes) and what it was like to be in a motorcycle gang. His stint with the Hell’s Angels didn’t end particularly well when he was given a beating for a remark he made about a member of the biker group.
Anyway we were asked if we could come up with a temporary Harley Davidson stencil in order to help out our friends at Lexis PR who were going for a pitch. It had to be done the next day and had to be able to be washed off if necessary. After debating as to whether we could produce something decent with some oil pastels (they were all we had at hand) we decided to give it a go and had a really rather pleasing result.
