It’s been a while since we’ve done any clothing designs but a call from the nice folks at Fist & Feather soon changed that for us. They are bringing out a range of sports/gym clothing aimed specifically at the combat/MMA market and wanted us to design a little something for their first male top in this range.
As id-iom comprises two combat-ready Alpha males we readily agreed whilst whooping and exchanging high fives. Then we sat and scratched our heads for a while, then we did a little internet research, discarding most of what we’d learned in a very manly way, and then we slipped into our Mexican wrestling costumes for a spot of grappling to get us in the mood to work on some authentic man work.
Working in a mask can prove sweaty and difficult but we persevered and eventually managed to come up with some suitable designs featuring, you guessed it, a fist and some feathers which were duly pinged over to the client. After a little to-ing and fro-ing and some nips and tucks (as it turns out they wanted to print on black) we had a final design which should be with the printers now. I can’t wait to see how ripped I look in my one when it arrives…
So, here we go again. It’s a new version of ‘Cyanotic’ and is starting at just 99p! Here is the Ebay link
Cyanosis is the appearance of a blue coloration of the skin and this lady either has it or is some kind of frost maiden. It’s A3 in size and has been made using the magic of spraypaint, stencils and screen printing and as such comes complete with our natty bright red id-iom stamp of approval.
This picture was in fact a small experiment at a more sketchy style stencil using a limited colour palette. I just thought a simple picture of a pretty girl would do it, no need to wallow in grimy hate filled pictures today, it just doesn’t seem right.
‘Girls just wanna have fun’. We all know that. Surely everyone likes a pretty girl who is flashing at them (her smile i mean, obviously)?
Well I for one certainly do and i’m pretty sure i’m not alone. I’ve added just a little bit of colour to this one but wanted to keep it minimal.
It’s a single layer A3 screen print with unique hand finishing including spraypaint, paint pens, watercolour and acrylic. Signed on reverse. All that and it’s still starting at a measly 99 pence! Here is the Ebay link
So here we go again with yet another piece in our demolition sale and it’s starting at just 99p. We are keepig going until the cupboard is bare… Here is the Ebay link.
Today’s offering is ‘Prosecute This!’ When I was growing up I occasionally saw the graffiti ‘Bill Posters is innocent’ about the place and didn’t understand it until my dad explained the joke to me at some point. I reckon I must have thought he was some kind of Robin Hood figure who the police were after but had public opinion on his side. This obviously appealed to me and lodged in my mind and now, after a good deal of processing, has now manifested itself in this piece.
I selected the date of 1880 as after a little internet research it would appear that was the date the ‘Bill Posters is innocent’ joke first made it to print (apparently in The London Graphic) so it’s certainly not anything new. I like the fact it still works today though.

id-iom is very proud to announce our first of two videos that were done so we could have something more of a permanent record of our now demolished studio building, The House of Pain(t). We had the Spraying Bricks crew around whilst we were doing one of the wall pieces and they had a chance to roam around and ask us a few questions. They have been doing a series of artist video’s and we’re definitely in good company with the likes of Smug, Inkfestish, Artista, Irony, Zomby and Reeps One. You can catch the rest of the video’s on their Youtube channel.
We are expecting to release our next video later this week so keep your eyes peeled…
It’s that time of day when we put up another little piece in the id-iom demolition sale and yet again it’s starting at just 99p. Here is the Ebay link
We all know that Eros is meant to have a bow and arrow that he fires to make people fall in love – as popularised by the statue in Piccadilly Circus. Well, it turns out that statue is actually of his brother, Anteros, who is the god of requited love (whilst Eros was the god of sexual love). Anyway we decided his hardware could do with an upgrade so here we’ve got his magical love 9mm. And it definitely packs a punch…

As i was a little bereft of ideas for what i could write regarding this piece I decided to put ‘pure white 21 grams’ into Google to see what would come up. I thought some cocaine reference would probably come up and was surprised that one of the top results was a site selling something called JWH-018. After a little research it would appear that JWH-018 is a very snappily named designer drug that mimics the effects of cannabis. This has been banned in the UK and various other countries but is still widely available on the internet. Now whilst this hasn’t got much to do with our picture i just thought it was an interesting aside and just goes to show how enterprising chemists can be. I suppose though that the picture is actually in response to Duncan MacDougall who said that the soul weighed 21 grams.
Its a single level screen print with chalk, acrylic and spray paint hand finishing. It is A3 in size and signed on the back.
So here we are again and we’ve got still another piece in the id-iom demolition sale. Who would’ve guessed that we had so much stuff stashed away in our now defunct studio? And like our other pieces it’s starting at the austerity busting price of just 99p… Here is the Ebay Link.
‘The best thing in life aren’t things’. Despite advertisers trying to convince us that wanting a life full of material possessions is what we all want I think we all know deep down that this small phrase is a truism that’s hard to deny. That said I have had my eye on a snazzy new laptop that I swear would make me happier…

A while ago I visited the ‘High Society’ exhibition at the Wellcome Trust and was very surprised to learn via a huge wall mounted infographic that the annual amount of money spent globally on the tobacco market is $625 billion as compared to $200 billion on the total illegal drug market and $825 billion on the entire pharmaceutical market (unfortunately i couldn’t find a version of the infographic image i’m talking about but have found more by the same guy, David McCandless, on his website atwww.informationisbeautiful.net) This led me to thinking just how much the huge tobacco companies need to continue to sell us their product – and have us buy it. They have so much invested in continuing having millions of addicts that it boggles the mind. In some twisted way this led to the creation of Tobacco Bloom. So there you have it.

‘I’m particular’ the picture states and i’m sure she is, just one look at those piercing eyes and you know it to be true. That and the jaunty angle of her hat.
