To Bite the Bullet
We did a version of this picture on paper a while back for a show at Studio 10 but it was done on a pretty small scale and as we liked it we thought it deserved to be immortalised on a wall on a bigger scale. A brief bit of work later and we were ready to realise our idea. All we needed was a suitable wall, some paint and a little bit of time.
According to the internet an idiom is ‘a group of words established by usage as having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words.’ We are called ‘id-iom’ and ‘to bite the bullet’ is a graphical representation of an idiom. You can see what we’ve done there can’t you? How self-referential and hip we are.
Cheers

Tobacco Bloom
So here we’ve got still another piece in the id-iom demolition sale that’s starting at just 99p! Here’s the Ebay link
A while ago I visited the ‘High Society’ exhibition at the Wellcome Trust and was very surprised to learn via a huge wall mounted infographic that the annual amount of money spent globally on the tobacco market is $625 billion as compared to $200 billion on the total illegal drug market and $825 billion on the entire pharmaceutical market (unfortunately i couldn’t find a version of the infographic image i’m talking about but have found more by the same guy, David McCandless, on his website at www.informationisbeautiful.net)
This led me to thinking just how much the huge tobacco companies need to continue to sell us their product – and have us buy it. They have so much invested in continuing having millions of addicts that it boggles the mind. In some twisted way this led to the creation of Tobacco Bloom. So there you have it.
It’s a A3 screen print on paper with unique hand finishing. Signed on reverse.

She’s like…
So we’ve got yet another piece in the id-iom demolition sale. Just exactly when will the pot run dry? As with our others it’s starting at the austerity busting price of just 99p! Here’s the Ebay link.
I knew we had this one nailed when a friend came up with the title. Little did he know it at the time, as he was talking about something else entirely, but he had just helped me put this one to bed. I love it when a plan comes together…
