Staring into the abyss

Staring into the abyss

Staring into the abyss

If you like the colour red then this one is for you. This beauty is not faring too well and you can tell by her thousand yard stare. If only you could see what she’s staring at your very sense of being would slowly start to fade away as the black vastness of the abyss creeps in to your body. But thankfully you can’t see that. Think of it as a staring into the abyss reaction picture.

Lovingly hand created with acrylics, ink and charcoal. She’s on A2 paper and is signed on reverse. That is all.

  1. SHORTLY before the major catastrophe that’s about to happen to these girls, Ms. Karr notes, “I see Mother’s face wearing that thousand-yard stare. . . . The back door she’s staring through opens on a wet black night.” Charlie is immeasurably, palpably sad. Her art, in the end, is not enough to hold her — nor is any art. She just reads Tolstoy, plays old Bessie Smith records and cries.
