A girl of a thousand sins

A girl of a thousand sins

A girl of a thousand sins

Don’t you just love it when courier firms make you wait at home all day on the basis that they’ll be dropping off your delivery some time between 8am and 6pm? That was the predicament I found myself in just the other day so rather than sit there stewing and wishing all kinds of afflictions on the delivery driver I decided to get the old paints out and start making a bit of a mess. I certainly wasn’t going to let the courier company waste my day, that was for sure.

With scant inspiration other than a neccesity to fill my day I set to work. What I’ve ended up with is ‘a girl of a thousand sins’ and you can just tell from the tar black pits for eyes that most of those sins have been racked up doing things you’d rather not know about.

Right, Spring appears to be here so maybe I’ll have something cheerier soon…

Cheers

Feeling flush?

Feeling flush?

Feeling flush?

As i have undoubtedly mentioned before it is sometimes very difficult trying to explain where inspiration for any particular piece comes from. This piece is probably a perfectly good example of that. All i can really tell you is what i know – and that is that it’s a picture of a man wearing knickers, suspenders and high heels who is aiming a gun somewhere off page. That’s about as much as i am ready and willing to explain about it. The rest i leave up to you. Make of it what you will…

It’s a generous A2 in size and is made using the magic of acrylic paint, ink, newsprint and paint pen. Signed on reverse.

If you like that kind of thing we’re also on Twitter (@thisisidiom).

Grotesque Affection

This one is a bit of a funny one as it’s journey to completion was in fits and starts but i’m surprisingly happy with the end result (especially if you got to see the initial stages!) What it says or does is beyond my capability for explanantion so i’ll just leave it to you to make up your own answers…

Love it or hate it i don’t care – i’m just glad she’s done and dusted as it was something of a difficult birth. She’s a generous A2 in size and is made using the magic of ink, spray paint, paint pen and watercolour. Signed on reverse.
