We are all fools for love

So we’re keeping the ebay ball rolling with a new piece:

Here’s the ebay link

It’s been over a year in the making (mainly because we’re so lazy) but we can finally reveal our huge edition of 2 (well 3 if you count the landscape one that is currently being hand finished) of our piece which was originally a large scale piece done at UPfest in 2012. It’s a combination of screen printing, stencils, spraypaint and a little hand finishing. The picture was based on a photo of a friend and I’m glad to say she has seen the piece since it was done and given it her blessing. I think the message is clear enough that no matter how tough we think we are love can make a fool of us all. Amen to that.

Cheers

Time to take the cure

Time to take the cure

Time to take the cure

If you keep abreast of our comings and goings you may already be aware that we recently had to change our ‘Taking the cure’ mural we did in Blackpool last year’s for Sand, Sea and Spray festival. This was due to the powers that be deciding (quite unfairly in my opinion) that they didn’t like our piece due to the fact that the accompanying text was apparently a drug reference. It actually related to the Victoria pastime of  ‘taking the cure’ being to bathe in the sea off Blackpool for healing purposes but they said it related to the much more recent meaning of the term of going in to rehab. It even mentions the Victorian ‘taking the cure’ on Blackpool’s Wikipedia page but what do I know.

Anyway they asked us to change the text or get the piece whitewashed, so, being the good boys we are we got some friends to change the piece for us so it was far less contentious. All good and everyone is happy. That said i thought i’d pay homage to our original piece and recreate it in part but this time making sure that the man has no say in whatever we put on it…

Cheers
