LFB Charity Ladder Climb

Here at id-iom HQ we are civic-minded souls and so when one of our plucky firemen gets in touch and asks for a bit of design for a charity event they’re doing then we’re only too happy to help. We were a little constrained with the design but they wanted something bold that could be printed up as a large banner and got their point across pretty clearly. And this is what we’ve ended up with. They’ll be doing the event this Saturday 28th September from 12-5 at the Business Design Centre in Islington so if you’re in the area drop by and show them some support.

As it goes we’ve got form for doing some fireman designs as we designed some t-shirts for the brave boys and girls who keep us safe from the fiery menace previously. As a reward we went down to the fire station and they showed us round. Winnner!

Cheers

The red mist

I’m sure we’ve all heard of the red mist? It is the feeling of extreme anger that temporarily clouds one’s judgment and can arise given a variety of conditions and depending on the individual.

Sometimes it’ll occur when some over-entitled male tries to mansplain something like the dark side of the Moon and how it is tidally locked to Earth when the woman is a world renowned astrophysicist with numerous awards and accolades under her belt on many far ranging subjects infinitely more complex than the simple geophysics this mouthbreather is attempting to explain.

Or perhaps simply encountering a mime. That would also do it.

Cheers

The Hand in Hand lives on…

Sadly our local pub has closed recently. It lives now only in our memories. In better news however it’s hopefully due to reopen with new management after a bit of refurbishment. It’s unknown what they’ll be doing decor-wise so I thought it best to capture a little of it’s old character in case it disappears altogether.

Some of the old wallpaper was of indiscernible age but had a favourable design  so I thought I’d generate a little commemorative artwork from that for no other reason than it seemed like a good idea at the time. What we’re left with is ‘time to drink’ featuring a modified wallpaper design featuring a little cocktail set and a skull and crossbones. And there you have it.
I like it and think I’ll go ahead and turn it into a larger stencil so it’ll make more sense on a bigger wall…

Cheers

When test sprays go wrong…

I thought I’d give myself a bit of a mission and cut a striped halftone image (if that is what such a thing is called). It did not go entirely to plan. You can see what I intended to cut and you can see what the final outcome was. The work all got a little bit fine and some of the bridges didn’t hold.

Not to worry. Everyday is a learning day. And I’ve just learned that I don’t like cutting striped halftone images. Onwards and upwards…

Run rabbit run!

Eagle eyed viewers will be aware we have previous with rabbits and their leporine brethren. Somehow they’ve managed to convince the majority of the world into believing they are cute and loveable creatures but in reality they are actually maladjusted and homicidal megalomaniacs.

I can’t trash talk them too much however as we have entered into a pact whereby we won’t provoke the other side. That doesn’t mean I won’t slander them when they come at me first though!

They’ve been in the vegetable plot and eating my flowers again and I’ve just had enough. I know they’re doing it on purpose. Now, it’s full on war…

As you can see I’ve donned my bunny outfit and now it’s time to try and lull them into a false sense of security so that they could be manhandled into a sack and sold to Pets At Home. It’s only because of the pact that I don’t sell them to the fancy food market nearby…

Cheers

Blue in the face

Last time we met time-travelling warrior poet Azrael Goldbeard he was in his undercover human form sometime in the 1970’s but since then he’s mistakenly jumped to 2019 Brexit Britain and it has got him well and truly wound up. He’s not thinking of a spiffy haiku now but has reverted to his powered up warrior form as he can sense the awesome amount of negative energy all around him.

His beard is now composed of pure energy and his eyes are literally leaking the power of a dwarf star. We can only hope he decides to put this energy to good use rather than taking off and nuking the entire site from orbit and hightailing it back to the 70’s. I, for one, welcome our new galactic overlords…

Love
