We got a few of our ‘God save the Queen’ designs printed up on kid’s t-shirts with Shoreditch Shorties (I think there are a few left if you’re interested in a little gift for the little terror in your life) and since we don’t have a child of the correct dimensions we gifted it to the lovely Ida. And doesn’t she just look pleased at her new gift.
As an aside the design itself is meant to reflect that a dwindling global bee population can only be bad news for puny humans as the bees pollinate an awful lot of the crops and flowers that we depend on for food. Without them we are somewhat doomed so it’s probably best if we take a bit better care of our little insect cousins and make sure they can continue doing their job. And, as a big bonus, they also know how to make honey. Without that we’d be left with wasp gravy and you wouldn’t want that on your morning toast.
Not content with printing up some t-shirts with the id-iom certified logo we’ve got our hands on some blank tote bags and so decided to print up a couple of those too. Basically I’ll stick an id-iom logo on just about whatever I can lay my hands on. It does look classy though if I do say so myself.
As you can probably tell this shot is not at all staged. Just me walking down the street completely natural like. I’m even pretending to use my phone so my arm isn’t hovering strangely in the air as I try not to obscure the logo. The troubles we have to go to…
Women love shoes. We’re not ones to make sweeping generalisations so you can take this fact as true. It’s also true that some men have a sneaker addiction but that’s not entirely relevant right now. There are even stories of women having surgery to reshape their feet just so they can fit into that perfect pair of Jimmy Choo’s but all of that pails in comparison to this lovely lady and her deep rooted affection for shoes of all kinds. Some might call it an obsession whilst other might simply label her as insane. As true as that might be she really doesn’t care as she’s the podiatric princess and no one can tell her otherwise (well, perhaps her GP but that’s not something I’d want to get involved with…)
Life moves faster at 45 – complete with cheeky little nephews…
Ever wondered what you’d get if you ask us to do some designs based around the number 45? Well, wonder no longer. This is the first of two walls based on exactly that…
Despite the fact that it’s been Christmas (and I hope you had a good one!) we have been busier than usual for this time of year and have, for once, actually managed to get some work done. We were commissioned to do a couple of walls in Forty Five, a sportswear shop on the Isle of Man, and had the designs all approved before returning home for Christmas so all we had to do was cut some stencils and get to work. Sounds easy doesn’t it? Well it should have been but Christmas drinks are hard to avoid around here. At least we got it done though. Even if it did take a bit longer than anticipated. The quote was taken from the drunken ramblings of a friend but I think it fits the bill perfectly in this case…
It’s been a while since we’ve done any clothing designs but a call from the nice folks at Fist & Feather soon changed that for us. They are bringing out a range of sports/gym clothing aimed specifically at the combat/MMA market and wanted us to design a little something for their first male top in this range.
As id-iom comprises two combat-ready Alpha males we readily agreed whilst whooping and exchanging high fives. Then we sat and scratched our heads for a while, then we did a little internet research, discarding most of what we’d learned in a very manly way, and then we slipped into our Mexican wrestling costumes for a spot of grappling to get us in the mood to work on some authentic man work.
Working in a mask can prove sweaty and difficult but we persevered and eventually managed to come up with some suitable designs featuring, you guessed it, a fist and some feathers which were duly pinged over to the client. After a little to-ing and fro-ing and some nips and tucks (as it turns out they wanted to print on black) we had a final design which should be with the printers now. I can’t wait to see how ripped I look in my one when it arrives…
So we’ve got yet another piece in the id-iom demolition sale. Just exactly when will the pot run dry? As with our others it’s starting at the austerity busting price of just 99p! Here’s the Ebay link.
I knew we had this one nailed when a friend came up with the title. Little did he know it at the time, as he was talking about something else entirely, but he had just helped me put this one to bed. I love it when a plan comes together…
She’s like a A3 screen print on paper with unique hand finishing. Signed on reverse
Just typical isn’t it? There I was last week thinking that winter is definitely on the way and then as soon as i print up a couple of jumpers we (obviously) get freakishly hot weather. I suppose i shouldn’t complain as it has felt like being on a mediterranean holiday for the last few days. London has been awash with people taking advantage of what is undoubtedly our last spot of good weather for the year. At least it made our lovely model happy and taking the photo’s was easy experience – although it was perhaps a trifle warm…
First up we have a lovely white virginal jumper with the legend ‘I just wanna be some guy’s midlife crisis‘ – a lovely sentiment i’m sure you’ll agree – and just perfect for the honest young lady about town. Then we have a cool blue little number with a somewhat cute looking kitten in a cat-size tank. Perfect for the discerning young lady to wear on the winter days which will be with us far too quickly…
I definitely think i’m more of a vestiphobe than a gymnophobe. In case you didn’t know, gymnophobia is the irrational fear of nudity (they may worry excessively about seeing others naked or being seen naked, or both) whilst vestiphobia is the overwhelming and irrational fear of clothing. Sometimes it all just gets a little much for me and I feel I have to divest myself of my clothing and have a little dance round the front room. Despite the fact my girlfriend calls this sexual deviance/assault i’m sticking by the fact that i’m a sometime vestiphobe. So there you have it. That’s my defence and i’m sticking to it.
One of our local pubs asked if we could come up with a design for a t-shirt for their staff to wear during the upcoming World Cup. Despite the fact that we aren’t actually English we thought it only fair to come up with a design. The logo on the back is an adapted version of the World Cup logo which, obviously, features a white horse.
We have a screenprinter and aren’t afraid to use it. Well, that’s not entirely true as we can’t currently use it as we don’t have enough space to get it out – which is a real shame. I do love to do a bit of screenprinting but we haven’t had our equipment out for a while due to our last ‘studio space’ getting redeveloped (i would have used the correct term – stables – but that just doesn’t have the right gravitas!)
We had a great day out shooting the shots below around South London. Many thank to everyone involved! Some of these t’s are even still available! Plenty more will become available once i manage to get the screenprinter set up again. Watch this space…
