First up, Best dressed

Growing up as one of three brothers the phrase ‘First up, Best dressed’ was not just a saying but a way of life. There was only one rule. The first person up had free choice of clothing including any items that belonged to a sibling. There was no argument with this rule. Only later, with the power of the internet, did I learn that it is a relatively common saying in the North of the UK and historically applied to other families with an equivalent number (or more) of potentially warring siblings and was, in fact, more commonly used as a saying much along the lines of ‘the early bird catches the worm’ rather than an actual house rule. You live and learn.

Today’s piece is inspired by this rule and here we most definitely the first up. He’s gone all out and has selected a dinner jacket and bow tie and looks simply FAB-U-LOUS. He’s on a 100 x 70cm canvas and has been made using stencils, spraypaint and the ancient art of paint chucking. Drop us a line if interested.

Cheers

Best weapon

For the latest in my tester line of laser cut designs I’ve gone for a little Nietzsche inspired piece. Nietzsche was a 19th century German philosopher who produced many scholarly articles.  I think his ‘best weapon’ quote is bang on the money but it’s tricky to be sure how impressed he’d be with my creation or whether he’d take umbrage with my use of his quote. Either way as it’s quite small at 11x15cm I’ll probably stick some magnets to the back and whack it on my fridge unless anyone else is interested. Drop us a line if so…

Bassists have the best moves

Bassists have the best moves

Bassists have the best moves

I have to admit that my favourite band member is usually the drummer, if he’s good, he can steal the show. Sadly though the drummer is stuck behind his kit (again why they are my favourite) and can’t really show the crowd his moves. The rest of the band on the other hand can move around the stage thrusting their hips which are usually poured in to tight jeans which send their adoring fans crazy. This picture though is based on a little something i noticed after one too many gigs…

It is A2 in size and is made using acrylic paint. Signed on reverse.

The best things in life

The best thing in life

The best thing in life

So here we are again and we’ve got still another piece in the id-iom demolition sale. Who would’ve guessed that we had so much stuff stashed away in our now defunct studio? And like our other pieces it’s starting at the austerity busting price of just 99p… Here is the Ebay Link.

‘The best thing in life aren’t things’. Despite advertisers trying to convince us that wanting a life full of material possessions is what we all want I think we all know deep down that this small phrase is a truism that’s hard to deny. That said I have had my eye on a snazzy new laptop that I swear would make me happier…

She’s an A3 screen print on paper with unique hand finishing including the magic of watercolour, spraypaint, stencils and old school felt tips. Signed on reverse
