Quick boredom buster

So whilst we’ve been working on a few different bits and bobs including some massive B0 bits of paper which should be ready soon we realised we haven’t posted much stuff as of late. To remedy this i’ve got a quick face i painted on the studio door as i was waiting for paint to dry. Now back to work…

Cheers

Where’s the weekend?

Today’s eBay piece is ‘Where’s the weekend?’. Click the link below to check it on eBay:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/392185026029

Surely you’ve had a dead end job that actively sucks the life out of you each and every day you attend? I’m pretty sure we’ve all been there. I certainly have. One where you lived for the weekend. Hopefully that was a lesson learned early on (and most probably the hard way) but now we’re a little wiser have moved onto more enjoyable positions. Anyway today’s pieces are a paean to the life of the wage slave. We can see he’s got his identical work ‘game face’ in each picture. This is because his face is permanently in this configuration during office hours as it’s hard to generate any interest when you do pretty much the same thing repeatedly. Here’s a run down of his week:

Monday – a stress in all ways; from getting up to getting home and all in between. Blue Monday to be sure. Where’s the weekend?

Tuesday – a grey day. Not much happened. But it is Tuesday so no catastrophes is considered a win. Where’s the weekend?

Wednesday – A day out of the office attending a training course. More enjoyable because of the novelty of not being in the office but don’t get carried away. It’s only Wednesday. Where’s the weekend?

Thursday – Some rays of sunshine – both literal and metaphorical – are just beginning to show through. You know the weekend isn’t too far away and it’s Thirsty Thursday so things could be worse. Today feels a little shorter than the earlier days of the week. Still, where’s the weekend?

Friday – Much brighter all round. But still at work. The weekend is so close you can smell it. Where’s the weekend?

Cheers

Where’s the weekend? (mini magnet edition)

I know it’s only Tuesday but surely you’ve already asked yourself this at least once. Here, as I’m sure you can tell I’ve gone for an artfully composed shot and stuck my little magnet on my preferred substance to abuse once the weekend is here. In my continuing quest to find fun things to do with a laser cutter I’m expanding from keyrings into little magnet thingamajigs. I’m working my way up to bigger bits but it’s enjoyable starting with little bits to try and familiarise myself with the laser cutter. This bad lad is already on it’s way to its new home in Portsmouth. Good luck to you lad!

Bored & Affectionate

Bored & Affectionate

Bored & Affectionate

This young lady has been on leave from work for about 3 weeks now for a small operation she had but don’t worry it wasn’t anything serious. It only took about 10 minutes in surgery and then another 10 minutes to heal yet she has still been signed off work for what seems like an eternity. So long in fact that she has now become quite bored and as a side effect become quite affectionate to any and all of those around her as she hungers for companionship. Her parents live up north, she doesn’t have a boyfriend, the cat’s already fed up of all the attention and to top it off all of her friends are on holiday in Croatia. Needless to say she’s completed the internet and is now itching for something or someone new to do…

Sunday afternoon TV

I’m sure we’ve all felt a little down sometimes but this fella is feeling it pretty bad. It’s Sunday afternoon, he’s pining for a lost love and the world doesn’t seem to care. At least he’s happy for the time being…

This is one of my favourite pieces that we’ve done and i know exactly what it is that sells it to me… It’s the little blobs of dried and shiny acrylic paint that have been affixed to the piece. I especially like the fact that it’s all black and white apart from the little bubble he is sat in where he’s constructing his own little bright future (although reality is not quite so bright – and even the TV knows it!) This is currently in the UPfest gallery in Bristol and is busy waiting for a new owner to take it home to give it the requisite care and attention it needs. Get yourself down there and have a look in person…

Cheers
