A Daughter of the North

She dangerous! She’s deceptive! She’s deadly! She’s a Daughter of the North for sure. You may have seen her once but you’d never recognise her again. They are legion. When the nation calls an enigmatic and elusive Daughter of the North is sure to answer. And roll opening credits.

That would be my pitch for my imaginary TV series ‘A Daughter of the North’. Think somewhere between Breaking Bad and Sons Of Anarchy but set in wartime UK. Oh bugger. I’ve just come up with a parallel universe version of Peaky Blinders haven’t I? Great minds and all that…

‘A Daughter of the North’ is on A4 paper and has been made using the magic of hot foil printing, acrylic and smoke. She’s available via our online shop or by dropping us a message.

Fashion is dead. Long live fashion!

I definitely think i’m more of a vestiphobe than a gymnophobe. In case you didn’t know, gymnophobia is the irrational fear of nudity (they may worry excessively about seeing others naked or being seen naked, or both) whilst vestiphobia is the overwhelming and irrational fear of clothing. Sometimes it all just gets a little much for me and I feel I have to divest myself of my clothing and have a little dance round the front room. Despite the fact my girlfriend calls this sexual deviance/assault i’m sticking by the fact that i’m a sometime vestiphobe. So there you have it. That’s my defence and i’m sticking to it.

I’ll dance for snacks alright!

I’ve emphasised previously just how honed our womble-like instincts are these days and how we pretty much can’t say no to anything that we can possibly paint on or that could potentially be useful at some future point. To further elaborate this point we recently acquired a couple of doors that had definitely seen better days (and that are surprisingly heavy!)

After a little deliberation to decide what to get on them it was decided that the first one should be out of our door as soon as possible as it was really blocking the place up. Quite how it was decided to put a dancing bear on there i’m not entirely sure but these things are what they are. We seem to have had some had some influence from Banksy in the definition of the bear’s feet (i.e. they aren’t there) but thankfully i don’t feel that detracts from the overall message.

After carrying it a fairly short distance it was released into the wild and will probably be where it was deposited for a fair while as it definitely takes two to move these things. A prize to anyone who knows where this one is. Keep your eyes out for the next one sometime soon…
