M.A.S.K

Kate here has been a bit depressed for the last few months. For the past 36 years (from the age of 10) she has been a world authority on the short-lived media franchise that was M.A.S.K. For the uninitiated, M.A.S.K was much like Transformers in so far that they were both an animated series and toy line. They even both featured transforming vehicles. And were also both keen marketing ploy’s by Kenner and Hasbro respectively.

Anyway, Kate is sad because until May this year she was living the impossible dream. M.A.S.K was, much like Transformers, due to hit the big screen and have a resurgence of interest. She’d even got  a segment of the lyrics to the theme song tattooed on her buttock – ‘No one knows what lies behind the masquerades!’ – but then came the sad news that the project was getting shelved again. S.A.D.

To this day Kate wears her M.A.S.K branded eye mask to honour her heroes and dream of the movie franchise that is surely to be…

She’s on A4 made using watercolour, ink, acrylic, paint pen and pencil. Drop us a line if you’d like her on your wall…

Cheers

She no like the wind

As I’m sure we’re all aware ‘She’s like the wind’ was a hit song from 1987’s Dirty Dancing and was co-written by Patrick Swayze. What you may not know however is that it was actually penned for another film, Grandview USA, from 1984. What has this got to do with today’s canvas I hear you ask. Not much in all fairness I just like to drop Swayze related facts whenever I can.

Margaret here is not like the wind. She is stolid and very reliable and does not like the wind. It messes with her expensive haircut and makes her feel anxious about how she looks. And today it is blowing a hoolie to use a northern colloquialism. Margaret doesn’t even want to go outside but she has to in order to reach the safety of her car. This is the result…

Painted on a 60x60cm canvas using watercolour, acrylic and spraypaint, contact if interested… If you’ve got this far you probably deserve another Swayze fact. He once owned a carpentry business called Nepotism Inc. So there.

The Willowz

Given Hollywood’s proclivity for constantly remaking films we thought we’d jump the gun with a promotional poster for our dark reimagining of Wind in the Willows for the 21st century called ‘The Willowz’. Think of it as a loose sequel to the perennial children’s classic. But darker. And with more animatronics.

It’s set 15 years after the original where kind and benevolent Badger has become a mad and despotic dictator. He’s killed all the original characters and sold half of Wild Wood to developers to fund his ever growing addiction to prescription drugs. Some say it was all due to a bout of TB he contracted in 2006.

Our heroes consist of a female human eco-warrior who has managed to round up the descendants of the original Mole, Ratty and Toad to end the tyrannical rain of Badger X as he’s now known. Cue a Stormzy remix of the original animated Wind in the Willows music and we’re good to go…

ON A3 paper made using the magic of Watercolour, acrylic, paint pen and glitter. Drop us a line if interested.

An entirely different sphere of influence

If you’ve seen the 1998 film ‘Sphere’ then you’ll know exactly where this sphere is coming from. It’s not simply a picture but more a manifestation of your own thoughts of desires. You will see in this picture exactly what you think of yourself. Maybe that’s true or maybe I liked how the first one of these came out so decided to do myself another. Who knows? The Muse moves in mysterious ways…

She’s on A3 paper, made using the magic of spraypaint and stencils and is currently available should anyone like her enough to want to take her home with them. Just drop us a line.
