So there I was in the pub the other day professionally ignoring the football when this guy came up to me and started pontificating about how secure an investment of Bitcoin surely was. He told me he could increase my investment 100 fold. It surely seemed a little too good to be true but I entertained him because there was still 40 mins left on the game of ballfoot to endure. Come full time he was still banging on about a new crypto wallet or some such rubbish. It took all conversational skills I’ve garnered over the years just to get a word in edgeways and in that conversational sweet spot I somehow managed to get him to accept a small portrait of himself by way of my investment. I’m not really sure how i’m going to get my investment back but I did manage to get rid of him. For now at least. The Bitcoin investors are easily startled but they’ll soon be back. And in greater numbers.
We’ve all been there as a kid when we’ve had an accident and all of a sudden the world seems a dark and daunting place. What a poor soul this boy is… He’s hurt his knee but he has no need to worry as he has a fairy godmother. The fairy on the picture is whispering – ‘Don’t cry son. A plaster is on it’s way’. This is offset somewhat by the legend at the bottom saying ‘Pain is life’. He’ll soon learn. And I doubt that fairy godmother will hang around forever…
It is A2 in size and is made using the magic of acrylic paint, watercolour, spray paint and paint pen. Signed on reverse.
As avid readers of our blog will know we have already covered our work up at Emirates Stadium for Arsenal(see here) but i have finally managed to create a short video of the Centrepoint logo we were commissioned to produce.
After so many failed attempts to turn our raw footage into an edited video that it is completely laughable i have finally managed to produce one very sub-standard video for your viewing pleasure. I realise that it’s probably not the most fantastic bit of video you have ever seen but i think i’m finally getting the hang of the video editing software we’ve got. It takes ages to crunch the HD video we shot and hopefully my next attempt will be somewhat jazzier although only time will tell. I should have proabably cut some of the footage out but that will have to wait until i’ve mastered the trim function – which could well take some time so you’ll have to bear with me…
Last week we managed to snag another commissioned piece – this time for drinks giant Diageo. The piece was to be completed in 90 minutes and we managed to get done just under time. It’s now to go into their box at Man United and then to be auctioned later in the season. There was to be some subtle branding so we used the Smirnoff colours and font. Vodka is my favourite spirit after all. All good!
Last week we got a call via a friend from Arsenal football club who were looking to commission a large (1.5m round) centrepoint logo for a photo shoot that was to take place involving the Arsenal players. This was to be in order to highlight their involvement with the charity (which is for homeless young people). For more information on the charity and Arsenal’s involvement please see the Be a Gooner, Be a Giver website here
Hopefully there will be a time-lapse video to follow at some point shortly…
