That’s a wrap

We here at id-iom occasionally like to go into the lab to create some new and wonderful things. Last Christmas when we couldn’t go and see our family due to the coronavirus we decided that our present giving for 2021 should be stellar and how better to do that than create some one-off personalised wrapping paper.

Like two mad scientists from the 50’s we came up with ideas ranging from gold plated newspaper (the cheaper newspaper was to offset the price of the gold) to woven cat fur cloth with added glitter (not ideal due to allergies). Eventually we decided to screen print some blank newsprint with cats, guns and grenades on as we thought this was the perfect sentiment for Christmas – and for gift giving in general. Now we just need some gifts…

Cheers

Good morning Mr Zip-Zip-Zip!

Good morning, Mister Zip-Zip-Zip,
You’re surely looking fine!
Ashes to ashes, and dust to dust,
If the Camels don’t get you,
The Fatimas must.

Here we have some pretty interesting lyrics taken from 1918 ragtime classic ‘Good Morning Mr Zip-Zip-Zip’ where ‘Camels’ and ‘Fatimas’ are apparently references to cigarette brands that were popular at the time. The tune was a favourite with US soldiers during the World War 1 era and was available as sheet music for piano, band, orchestra and male quartet as well as for talking machine or player piano.

Just why the muse demanded I juxtapose this with a rather racy looking young lady clutching a couple of water pistols you’ll have to work out for yourself. It’s laser engraved on wood then hand painted and stands proud at 39 x 26cm. Drop us a line if you’re interested…

Cheers

This is what she made me

This is what she made me

This is what she made me

I don’t know about you but the ‘sparkle’ in this guy’s eye’s is pretty intense. I’m not sure if I’d like to meet him down a dark alley although you could at least see him coming. Why exactly he’s had his mouth stitched up I’m not quite sure either but it certainly doesn’t give me a warm feeling inside. That plus the kittens, guns and grenades in the background give him an overall feeling of being fairly sinister. Considering he’s involved in certain legal proceedings (mentioned in our last post) that’s all I’m legally allowed to disclose. You weren’t there man, you just don’t know what it was like…

Cheers
