The House of Requirements

There is a house in New Orleans they call the Rising Sun. But that’s not important right now. What is important is the ‘House of Requirements’. It has the ability to produce whatever it is you’re looking for whenever you need it but the key is knowing where to look. Literally anything may be found. The list of potential objects is effectively infinite. All that is required is a rich desire to find said object. In the case of failure it just means you haven’t looked hard enough. A workable solution always presents itself. It’s weird but it’s true. I know because¬†I live there. Sometimes.

All this from some weird desire to produce something to respect the actual building that provided a roof over my head for so many years. And there you have it. It’s odd being an artist sometimes…

Home Sweet Home*

‘Hi ho hi ho it’s off to work we go’ is a cheery refrain heard up and down the country each morning as we happily swing out of bed for another rousing day at the office. Working for the Man is such a rewarding and fulfilling pastime that it feels just like home. So you might as well just give in and make it so. Bring some soft furnishings in and pop this on the wall and suddenly everything is better. Maybe.

She’s a homely A2 in size, is made using the magic of spraypaint and stencils and would look just great hanging in your ‘office’. Whatever that may be. Drop us a line if interested…

Brixton whichever way you look at it

Given that we’d already done a ‘Bristol’ ambigram design before Christmas I thought it only fair to get Brixton in on the action. Knowing my current proclivities if I did a load of them they’d all have stripes on them so I limited myself to just two versions for now. One with stripes, obviously, and one with a wavy patterned design. In all fairness I’d probably have to respray the blue and grey one if anyone wanted it as my favourite part, the Ace of Aces logo bit, hasn’t really come out very well but I thought I’d wait and see if there was any interest first. They’re A2 in size and I’d also be happy to re-do with¬†any particular background colourways as requested if anyone felt so inclined as to ask. So there you have it.

As a side note if you’re not familiar with Ram John Holder’s song ‘Brixton Blues’ then I suggest you get yourself to Youtube pretty sharpish and give your ears a little treat.

We Come, We Go

We Come, We Go

We Come, We Go

We all only have one life to live so you might as well live it to its fullest, take every day as your last and all that malarkey and this beauty is doing just that. Her parents always told her to put her clothes back on when she was a child but she just didn’t care she was going to do as she wished and even now as someone more advanced in age she’s still up to her old tricks. Admittedly this doesn’t always go down to well at parties but then again who cares, certainly not her that’s for sure.

There’s no place like home

There’s no place like home

There’s no place like home

I do so like getting a good commission. For this one we had to come up with something that would bring a bit of colour to a tired white board that had been fitted over an old fireplace. As the fireplace is something of a focal point in the room we wanted to come up with something fitting.

After initially going down the slightly obvious route of recreating some kind of actual fireplace (complete with painted flames) we decided that whilst that could be quite nice in wintertime it would be a little odd in summer so we decided to change tack and go with something that would bring a little colour to the room all year round. The Latin text reads ‘There’s no place like home’ and we also have a lovely young lady (in a swimsuit, naturally) who has launched herself from somewhere on high and is about to land safely in the comfort of a large hand that is waiting to catch her. There really is no place like home…
