God Save the Queen – hot foil

If you’ve wanted an id-iom piece but didn’t have the dollar then worry no further. We’re doing a little edition of A4 hot foil prints for £15 unframed (+ postage)

May 20th is World Bee Day and on this day in 1734 Anton Jansa, the pioneer of beekeeping was born. The purpose of the international day is to acknowledge the role of bees and other pollinators in the ecosystem.

That’s important because a dwindling global bee population can only be bad news for puny humans as the bees pollinate an awful lot of the crops and flowers that we depend on for food. Without them we are somewhat doomed so it’s probably best if we take a bit better care of our little insect cousins and make sure they can continue doing their job.

As a big bonus, they also know how to make honey. Without that we’d be left with wasp gravy and you wouldn’t want that on your morning toast.

Cheers

God save the Queen

Do you know what today is? It’s World Bee Day! On this day in 1734 Anton Jansa, the pioneer of beekeeping was born.

This design is due to be one of our upcoming hot foil prints so watch this space…

Cheers

Well, I’ll bee darned. Sebastian here came back from a street art tour in the east end last week and now thinks he knows everything about everything. Here he is suggesting some improvements to one of our paintings. Stick to making honey Sebastian pal!

For this commission the only instruction I was given was ‘bees’. Now that is the kind of commission I like. And this is what you get. A dwindling global bee population can only be bad news for puny humans as the bees pollinate an awful lot of the crops and flowers that we depend on for food. Without them we are somewhat doomed so it’s probably best if we take a bit better care of our little insect cousins and make sure they can continue doing their job. And, as a big bonus, they also know how to make honey (which the crystal resin on the picture is meant to represent). Without that we’d be left with wasp gravy and you wouldn’t want that on your morning toast.

Cheers
