Stay Positive (UPfest 10th anniversary book launch edition)

Do you usually start new projects in a whirl of positivity only to be confounded mere moments later by the nagging ache of negativity?

Do you enjoy putting off til tomorrow what you should probably get done today?

Would you generally prefer to be back in bed?

If you answered yes to any or all of these questions then our new range of demotivational pieces are ideal to give you that extra little nudge you need to justify to yourself whatever decision you’re about to make. It’s that simple! Anyone can use them!

Can be purchased this evening as part of UPfest’s 10th anniversary book launch. There will be a blind auction with art from 50 festival artists.

Cheers

It’s now or never man!

I thought it time for another double sided piece and ‘It’s now or never man!’ is the somewhat inevitable result.

Do you enjoy sitting on the sofa when you know you have something more important to do?

Can you spell ‘procrastination’?

Are you more inclined to err on the side of caution?

If you answered yes to any of or all of the above questions then ‘It’s now or never’ is just the product for you! It’s ideal to give you that extra little nudge you need to justify to yourself whatever decision you’re about to make. It’s that simple! Anyone can use them!

Side 2 features a disembodied and somewhat world-weary looking face giving us what surely amounts to a bit of stinkeye. Luckily for us he’s no expert at applying mascara – or lipstick for that matter it would seem. Simply inexplicable…

Make them smile!/Sphere no.9

I’ve got my hands on some wooden panels and since they’ve got 2 paintable sides I thought that I may as well go ahead and do just that and get some more double sided pieces on the go. Behold the first creation.

Side one features a new demotivational piece – ‘Make them smile’ and some snazzy colour fades.

Side 2 features a mysterious sphere floating serenely above some yellow and red flower like devices. What is it doing? Your guess is as good as mine…

What more could you want? It’s on a 60 x 40cm wooden board and is made using the magic of spraypaint, stencils and imagination. Drop us a line if interested.

Just let it be – Demotivational poster no. 14

Do you enjoy sticking your snoot in other people’s business?

Have you a fondness for getting involved where there’s no need?

Are you unable to let things lie?

If you answered yes to any of or all of the above questions then ‘Just let it be’ is just the product for you! It’s ideal to give you that extra little nudge you need to justify to yourself whatever decision you’re about to make. It’s that simple! ‘FRANK! Just let it be!’ is a common enough refrain heard up and down the country on a Friday night. The Beatles even famously sang a song about it where the mantra of ‘Let it be’ is repeated many times. Sometimes it’s just not that easy though…

Here at id-iom HQ we’re concerned with the world’s well-being. To that end we’ve created a range of demotivational posters to avoid cognitive dissonance and are available to suit every situation. She’s on A2 paper and is made using the magic of spraypaint, stencils and imagination. If you’d like to give her a new home then get in touch.

Just be your self (id-iom @ UPfest 2018)

For UPfest’s 10th incarnation (and our 9th visit) we thought we’d go for a couple of self portraits combined with an inspirational quote albeit with a little id-iom twist. The main quote says ‘Just be your self. Unless you can be id-iom. In which case be id-iom.’ We even managed to get a cryptic earworm included in morse code in the wallpaper design and shoehorned a Simpson’s reference in there for good measure (as UPfest had partenered The Simpsos for this year’s show).

It should all have been easy enough except we didn’t really count on the weather being quite so inclement. Wrestling huge stencils in the wind and rain is not really to be advised. We managed to get to some state of completion but not before the biggest rainstorm of the day had completely soaked us to the bone. All this after 4 weeks of the UK baking in eternal sunshine. Oh well, c’est la vie.

Cheers

Be careful what you ask for…

Sometimes you have to be careful what you ask for. We were tasked with providing a couple of canvases as prizes for a corporate away day.  We weren’t sure who the ultimate client was but we figured it didn’t make too much difference in the grand scheme of things. We probably could have gone for something a bit more life affirming but eventually decided that a couple of demotivational posters would surely fit the bill. So that’s exactly what they got. I hope they like them…
