Another day, another picture for sale in id-iom’s Yuletide Fundom Demolition Sale!
This piece was inspired by a larger version we painted live at a small show we had a while back – see here. It’s clearly a cat in a tank but his dark motives are obscured behind a cute fluffy visage but don’t be fooled. Surely the fact that he’s in a tank means his intentions aren’t entirely honourable. There will be milk!
It’s a single layer screen print on A3 and is signed on reverse. It’s starting at 99p and here’s the Ebay link
It’s not all work, work, work here at id-iom HQ. With Bonfire Night fast approaching I took our little Manx cat aside and tried to have a quiet word with her about how dangerous and scary fireworks can be for small cats that have never experienced it before and how I thought it best that she perhaps stay inside for tonight and Saturday. Before I had even finished speaking she glanced at me contemptuously and darted out through the cat flap. When she finally came back in I thought that perhaps writing the rules down would work but she merely gave me a knowing look and started to play with the sheet of paper. Finally i decided enough was enough and I would create a Cat No Exit sign that blocked the cat flap as I fear that if i merely locked it she would get mightily confused. Here she is trying to devise a way past it all the same…
I don’t know about you but the ‘sparkle’ in this guy’s eye’s is pretty intense. I’m not sure if I’d like to meet him down a dark alley although you could at least see him coming. Why exactly he’s had his mouth stitched up I’m not quite sure either but it certainly doesn’t give me a warm feeling inside. That plus the kittens, guns and grenades in the background give him an overall feeling of being fairly sinister. Considering he’s involved in certain legal proceedings (mentioned in our last post) that’s all I’m legally allowed to disclose. You weren’t there man, you just don’t know what it was like…
I was sat on the computer the other day when my kitten came up and was sitting staring out of the window at some birds on the rooftop opposite and it started making this unusual clicking noise:
I was thinking ‘surely my kitten can’t be broken already! It’s only a few months old!’. Well after a little research on the good ‘ol interwebs I found that this wasn’t a case of my kitten being faulty but is something that cats often do (although i’d never heard it before) when there is some prey or something they want to chase/attack but they can’t get to it so they do it out of frustration.
Now i’m sure this is really not surprising to people who have owned cats before as they are always enthusiastic in their willingness to attack small creatures but it led me to making an addition to a picture we did last week (bemoaning my ability to get the hang of tweeting) which I think captures the cuteness of kittens combined with what they are actually thinking…
Just typical isn’t it? There I was last week thinking that winter is definitely on the way and then as soon as i print up a couple of jumpers we (obviously) get freakishly hot weather. I suppose i shouldn’t complain as it has felt like being on a mediterranean holiday for the last few days. London has been awash with people taking advantage of what is undoubtedly our last spot of good weather for the year. At least it made our lovely model happy and taking the photo’s was easy experience – although it was perhaps a trifle warm…
First up we have a lovely white virginal jumper with the legend ‘I just wanna be some guy’s midlife crisis‘ – a lovely sentiment i’m sure you’ll agree – and just perfect for the honest young lady about town. Then we have a cool blue little number with a somewhat cute looking kitten in a cat-size tank. Perfect for the discerning young lady to wear on the winter days which will be with us far too quickly…
I was trying to come up with something typically gritty, urban and insulting to get up and so somehow (naturally) ended up with this badass bit of graf…

Title: I Love Kittens
Media: Hand cut stencils & spraypaint
I was obviously in a somewhat romantic/strange mood as also got ‘Birds of a feather’ up as well although i think it was the somewhat desperate looking leafless branch that set the wheels in motion for this one. And, i suppose, the fact that i just love to brighten up a drab looking wall…
While we were at home the last time we got this piece done for a friend. The video is well worth a watch – even if only for the soundbites that have been edited in:
