Every Loser Wins

Sometimes life gives you lemons and all you can do is cry and hope for a better day. I think this may be that day. I had a write up of sorts in mind for this piece and then stupidly asked the other half of id-iom if he had any ideas. Now I can’t think of anything but Nick Berry and Stefan Dennis being pop stars.

He suggested looking up ‘Every Loser Wins’ which, incredulously, was no. 1 for 3 weeks in 1986. It’s an early example of cross marketing whereby it featured in Eastenders and then went to no. 1 in real life. It’s also dreadful.

This led me down the youtube rabbit hole and before you know it I’m listening to Stefan Dennis’ ‘Don’t it make you feel good’ and he’s really channeling a working man’s David Hasselhoff vibe. It’s a better song but I think I need a lie down all the same. You can make what you want of this piece but don’t go looking up ‘Every Loser Wins’ or ‘Don’t it make you feel good’. You have been warned.

She’s on A2 and made using spray paint, acrylic and paint pen

We are 1

We are 1

Just over a year ago we did some work for a new bar opening in Brixton called the Electric Social. To promote the bar’s 1st birthday (how time flies!) we were asked to go out and do a small street campaign in the surrounding areas with a single layer stencil and some chalk paint (I love chalk paint by the way). So we put on some sturdy walking boots and hit the road for a pleasing stroll whilst at the same time spraying up the pavement near the likes of bus stops, crossings and bins where people usually slow down their pace a little so there is all the more chance for them to notice a little subversive advertising. Thankfully all went well and although we couldn’t make it to the actual birthday party we heard that it was also a massive success with one of their busiest night to date. Happy Birthday sunshine!!

Cheers

Come one, come all

Come one, come all

Come one, come all

At last! Summer seems to finally be here! What a result! We got a call on Friday asking if we were interested in doing some boards at the  Whitecross Street Party on Saturday. We checked the weather, which was, surprisingly, promising warmth and sunshine and so promptly agreed. As it was in London it didn’t even require a particularly early start. Which was another good result. After finding ourselves a board to paint we set to work and had this done by closing time. I think the boy in the piece looks a little more sinister than we originally intended but I think it works quite nicely because of that. He certainly looks as though he’s been up to some kind of mischief…

Cheers
