We are all in the gutter…

‘We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars’. You’ve got a love a good quote and I reckon this one from Oscar Wilde (from ‘Lady Windermere’s Fan’) really nails it. A nice sentiment expressed beautifully.

So naturally I decided to complement his quote with some frogs who have formed a frog ladder in order to facilitate reaching for the stars. Which brings to mind another famous quote from Isaac Newton ‘If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants’. So there you have it. Oscar Wilde and a frog ladder. Two quotes in one really.

They’re A2 and are £130 if anyone wants to give either a new home.

Those who dance…

I like to think of this girl as gyrating round a pumping dancefloor with a mischievous look in her eye whilst she casts about for someone fun to dance with. She’s a basshead and lives for these brief moments of freedom through the medium of dance. It should be apparent by her the small tattoo on her head. The top she’s wearing is also something of a giveaway.

The title of ‘Those who dance…’ comes from a quote which is attributed to George Carlin and features next to our alluring basshead in my font du jour – Sans Forgetica.

A couple of versions of ‘Those who dance…’ are still available via Play Dead gallery until 16th Feb. They’re A2 and are £130 each if anyone wants to give them a new home.

Bovver Boys

Now I’m not entirely sure what these boys are up to but you can bet your bottom dollar it isn’t something wholesome that your mum would approve of.

In our post-brexit future however all street corners will come equipped with at least a couple of these lads hanging around who’ll you have to bypass on the way to your zero hour contract minimum wage job that you’re desperately trying to keep a hold of. Grim isn’t it? But, as they say, failing to plan is planning to fail.

‘Bovver Boys’ is still available via Play Dead gallery until 16th Feb. She’s A2 and is £130 if anyone wants to give her a new home.

We forge the chains that bind us in life

We as individuals make our own limitations, our own chains. Without sounding like a self-help book ‘we forge the chains that bind us in life’ is something of a blinding truism that many people fail to see. It’s not what happens to us in life but how we handle whatever comes our way that makes us what we are. That said I did get arrested once and i’m pretty sure the handcuffs weren’t constructed by my fair hand. So take from that what you will.

Those in the know may have realised I’ve paraphrased Charles Dickens for the quote on this one. But it’s a good one.

A few versions of ‘We forge the chains’ are still available via Play Dead gallery until 16th Feb. They’re A2 and are £130 each if anyone wants to give them a new home.

Time cannot be saved

Time is a funny old thing. As a kid you can’t wait to grow up and be able to do all the things you dream of. Then somehow life gets in the way and before you know it you’ve somehow morphed into an adult human and realise that adulting isn’t quite all it was cracked up to be. You want that carefree time back. But you can’t have it. Time cannot be saved. It can only be spent. Spend it wisely. Here ends the lesson.

A couple of versions of ‘Time cannot be saved’ are still available via Play Dead gallery until 16th Feb. They’re A2 and are £130 each if anyone wants to give them a new home.
