Lips so nice we did ’em twice

Soooooo, it’s Friday and we’re off to the Isle of Wight festival to do a bit of djing. What a lovely day for it. Anyway, i digress. If you haven’t been paying attention then a brief recap is probably in order. Here it goes –  we went down to Somerset to paint some boards for Pootopia who provide toilets at festivals.  They have hundreds of compostable toilets and are beautifying them with some artwork on boards which fit into the toilet doors. Which is where we came in. We set ourselves a somewhat ambitious target of completing 40 boards over the weekend. Despite working just about as hard as we could we only managed a final tally of 32 completed boards (with 7 left just as backgrounds and one MIA). Not too shabby if i say so myself. The hard part was trying to make it so they didn’t all look too similar.

Today I present to you our sixth set of boards and I can see the finish line from here. Right, cats to herd and curtains to iron. Toodle pip for now…

Cheers

And here is our fourth set of boards and we’re just about at the halfway mark. I didn’t realise quite how busy we were that weekend…

So this is our third set of boards and we aren’t even half way through them yet! As previously mentioned we headed to Somerset to paint as many boards as we could handle in a weekend for the nice folks at Pootopia.  They have hundreds of compostable toilets and are beautifying them with some artwork on boards which fit into the toilet doors. Which is where we came in. We set ourselves a somewhat ambitious target of completing 40 boards over the weekend. It was pretty busy weekend and we didn’t finish till 9pm on Sunday but less about my troubles here’s the third load of finished boards…

With festival season almost upon us we were invited down to Somerset to paint as many boards as we could handle in a weekend for the nice folks at Pootopia. They have hundreds of compostable toilets and are beautifying them with some artwork on boards which fit into the toilet doors. Which is where we come in. After jumping in the id-iomobile and heading West into the setting sun we arrived late so got to work early Saturday morning and set ourselves a somewhat ambitious target of completing 40 boards over the weekend. Despite working just about as hard as we could we only managed a final tally of 32 completed boards (with 7 left just as backgrounds and one MIA). Not too shabby if i say so myself. The hard part was trying to make it so they didn’t all look too similar.

It was somewhat manic and we didn’t finish till 9pm on Sunday but here’s the second load of finished boards…

U2 and Coldplay headline Glastonbury 2011

I’ve been to Glastonbury every available year since 1999 and thoroughly enjoyed myself every time – come rain or shine. I’m sure this year will be no exception (and I hope the weather will be as nice as last year) but I think this piece sums up my reaction to the news that U2 and Coldplay will be headlining. I’m somewhat ashamed to say that i have seen Coldplay before (at Glastonbury when i was in no fit state to traverse between stages) and suffice to say I will not be making the same mistake twice. I reckon I will however be seeing exactly what Beyonce has to offer…

My (non-musical) highlight from last year would have to be trading consumables on the Monday afternoon at the Stone Circle – what fun and merriment there was to be had! At least the choice of headliners has provided me with some ideas for a little bit of on site ‘street’ work. Keep your eyes peeled!

Cheers
