All Cats Are B…

Scruffy here doesn’t like cats and he never has. The way the prowl round like they own the place with their evil eye assessing any prey small enough and silly enough to get in their way. Oh yeah, they like getting their belly rubbed and are cute when their owner is about but, man, the things he’s seen them do when they think no one is looking beggars belief. Recently he’s been seeing a lot of cat video’s on the internet and he’s had just about enough.

No-one is saying graffiti is the answer. (It is though). He’s just a man on a mission to express himself. He’s just got finish this sentence first…

Brixton crack squirrel

I’ve mentioned the squirrels around here before. They’ve even been in the newspapers – and here’s a little coverage from The Guardian to prove it! Anyway, believe me when I say they are bad. Real trouble.

It’s been a while since we’ve had an appearance from the Brixton crack squirrel though. I thought he was a goner but it turns out he’s just been sleeping in a lot and trying to kick the habit. Looks like he’s back to his old tricks again though and has pilfered a bag of rocks from somewhere…

Please help!

Please help!

Who can resist such a plaintive cry for assistance? And such a cute looking pigeon to boot. I certainly couldn’t resist and if I found Percy I would definitely be straight on to aburimar777@gmail.com to let him know exactly where his lost pet could be found.

We’ve delighted in a bit of ‘artistic scam baiting‘ before but are taking the use of the scammer’s email address to new heights. We have crafted a poster for his lost ‘pigeon’ in the hopes that someone will help out in the search for Percy. There’s a lot of pigeons in London but this one is quite distinctive as pigeons go as i’m sure you can tell. If you have any leads at all I’m sure he’d appreciate if you get in touch. It may brighten up his otherwise tedious day of sending countless emails trying to con strangers out of their hard earned money…

I told you our squirrels were trouble…

I told you our squirrels were trouble...

I’ve mentioned the squirrels around here before. They’ve even been in the newspapers – and here’s a little coverage from The Guardian to prove it! Anyway, believe me when I say they are bad. Real trouble. So there I was walking through the park when I get the feeling I’m being watched. I cast a furtive eye over the benches near me when I see him sat there, just staring at me and emitting a low guttural noise that doesn’t sound very friendly at all. A second glance reveals the empty cans and cigarette (or joint – who knows?) As I quicken my step I chance once last glance behind me and he seems to be chuckling to himself with an evil glint in his eyes. Making my way home apace I could have sworn I could hear rustling sounds behind me but couldn’t see anything. I just concentrated on finding my keys…

At least he hadn’t been on the crack. They are always worse. I’m not sure if I’ll be walking that way again…

We’re going to rock down to Electric Social – and then we’ll take it higher!

There's a mouse! Where? There on the stair!

Since when can squirrels read?

Aha! That's why she has that enigmatic smile. Because of the cute squirrel.

We’ve been a little quiet of late but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been busy! We have in fact been very busy working with dangerous animals and giant stencils on a new bar that has opened in Brixton.

The Electric Social on Acre Lane is now open for business and looking spiffing – complete with id-iom enhanced interior! Downstairs we have done a 10 metre section of downstairs wall with an Electric Social lightbulb wallpaper and a big piece over it entitled ‘id-iom’s How to Get Your Man’. Then upstairs we have done a large Electric Social cassette tape behind the stage. Scattered throughout we have painted numerous happy woodland animals. There’s mice, rats, magpies, a stoat and an owl. Unfortunately there’s a couple of bad eggs that have slipped in too – as the bloody squirrels have only been at the crack again! They’ll be chewing on the wiring again before you know it…

The Brixton crack squirrels were actually inspired by a couple of ‘true’ stories (I use true in the loosest sense of the word – mainly that it was reported by The Guardian and The Sun newspapers).

NEWS JUST IN – it’s been confirmed that one of my favourite DJ’sA Skillz – will be playing at the the grand opening of the Electric Social on Friday 30th September. Now I just hope they were serious about that bar tab for us…

Cheers
