M.A.S.K

Kate here has been a bit depressed for the last few months. For the past 36 years (from the age of 10) she has been a world authority on the short-lived media franchise that was M.A.S.K. For the uninitiated, M.A.S.K was much like Transformers in so far that they were both an animated series and toy line. They even both featured transforming vehicles. And were also both keen marketing ploy’s by Kenner and Hasbro respectively.

Anyway, Kate is sad because until May this year she was living the impossible dream. M.A.S.K was, much like Transformers, due to hit the big screen and have a resurgence of interest. She’d even got  a segment of the lyrics to the theme song tattooed on her buttock – ‘No one knows what lies behind the masquerades!’ – but then came the sad news that the project was getting shelved again. S.A.D.

To this day Kate wears her M.A.S.K branded eye mask to honour her heroes and dream of the movie franchise that is surely to be…

She’s on A4 made using watercolour, ink, acrylic, paint pen and pencil. Drop us a line if you’d like her on your wall…

Cheers

Be Kind – Demotivational Poster no. 23

Do you try to be nice but sometimes fail due to the stupidity of other people?

Do you like cute animals?

Are you opinionated?

If you answered yes to any of or all of the above questions then ‘Be Kind’ is just the product for you! It’s ideal to give you that extra little nudge you need to justify to yourself whatever decision you’re about to make. It’s that simple! Anyone can use them!

Here at id-iom HQ we’re concerned with the world’s well-being. To that end we’ve created a range of demotivational posters to avoid cognitive dissonance and are available to suit every situation. In vino veritas, in aqua sanitas

We were invited up to the suitably swanky Hill House in Norfolk to adorn their already impeccably adorned walls with some large scale outdoor id-iom artwork. Given that Hill House is often hired out for parties and events we thought we’d try and come up with something suitable and ‘In vino veritas, in aqua sanitas’ is the result.

The Latin phrase translates as ‘In wine there is truth, in water there is health’ and it is a sentiment of which id-iom and, I’d like to think, Hill House itself approves. The table tennis table in the same outdoor space was looking a little worse for wear so we decided to give that a little makeover too in order to match the newly minted mural. The place was lovely, the weather was great and the staff (when we saw them) were equally so. It was all work though as being artists-in-residence for the week left ample time to stroll the grounds with a shandy in hand examining the very many cute bunny rabbits that also shared the garden dispensing nuggets of truth…

Cheers
